I was born on the westside in 1954 at Cook County Hospital. I grew up in Cabrini Green. I attended Jenner Elementary, Cooley UGC, Wells Sr High, the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle where I majored in Spanish and minored in Education. I have a diploma in Computer Programming.
I am an award winning columist for the Austin Weekly News. Initially I was offered the opportunity to write for the paper twice a month. After reading my columns for several years, then featured columist Frank Lipscomb stepped down and allowed me to take over that position. I now am the featured columist writing 52 times a year about local politics and issues directly related to the Chicagoland area. I recently was approached by OnixLink.Com to write for them. My columns caused the owner to redo and rethink his writer sections to now have a featured area for us. My focus at OnixLink is on society, news and politics.
I moved to Austin in 1989 when I purchased a home here. I have two children.
